The Time After Darkness Fell
Yasuki Toshiro 20 questions
What clan does your character belong to?
What family does your character belong to?
Is your character a bushi, a shugenja, or a courtier?
How would others describe your character’s appearance?
Shabby and unkept. There is more to care about on the wall then how one looks. Besides, the best way to get the better end of a deal is when the other thinks they are above you.
What is your character’s primary motivation?
Reequipping the Crab clan with favors, allies, animals, technology, and anything else that will help if the Shadowlands somehow returns, or another enemy attacks Rokugan.
Who is the person your character trusts most in the world?
No one because they all have their own agenda and fortifying Rokugan against their next adversary is probably not on their “to do” list.
What is your character’s greatest strength and weakness?
He is very good at talking, but perhaps a little too much at times with his all too real stories and his fear of ever being hit.
What does your character think of bushido?
It’s good when it helps you, but it really does get in the way sometimes.
What is your character’s opinion of his clan?
They should have never let the Wall fall in the first place. And because they failed, all of Rokugan had to pay the price.
Is your character married?
Nope, but hopes to marry a Unicorn so he can train some of their horses, and perhaps get enough to half his own stable for the Crab.
Does your character have any prejudices?
A little ill will to the Crab, but he doesn’t hate them or anything since all the clans failed, they just happened to be the first.
To whom does your character owe the most loyalty?
Ifuku, his little yojimbo. He knows he is doomed without him.
What are your character’s favorite and least favorite things?
His favorite thing is his little yojimbo, while his least favorite is getting hit, by anything. But he enjoys story time and rumors almost as much.
Does your character have any recurring mannerisms?
Saying “I don’t mean to brag…” and then petting his little yojimbo, the lucky cricket.
What about your character’s emotions?
Apathy. With all the blood shed taking back Rokugan, life lacks any passion. People want to play their games rather then crush the remnants of the Shadowlands or prepare for the next adversary, so he will play them too in hopes that down the line, it will help. Perhaps if he does enough, Rokugan won’t be blind sided again or face near total destruction again.
How would your character handle a subordinate’s improper behavior?
Good source material for one of his stories.
How would your character’s parents describe him?
What is your character’s highest ambition?
To have his own stable of Unicorn horses for the Crab, and any working technology.
How religious is your character?
Not really at all unless someone is about to hit him.
How will your character die?
Running away? Probably seppuku after the representative he chose to fight for him in a duel loses because they didn’t like his version of a story, or his rumormongering.
